Software industry is making us stupid

The sad state of software design, how it's ruining our lives instead of making them better, and how to fix it.

Let me tell you a story about how skills work on a deep psychological level, a story about what a car is, and a story about "Karate Kid". This all ties in to the overarching problem we are currently in where software which rules our lives (and today software is embedded into everything) is ruining our lives and our abilities instead of helping us. It's time we admit to ourselves that we took a wrong turn about a decade ago, and we straighten up this whole category of Software Design.

Goran Peuc

A designer whole of my professional life since around 1998, started in Croatia, and now living in Ireland for the past 5 years. Worked in (reverse chronological order) Farmeron, Nivas, and Code16, before I moved to SAP. Don't let the corporate name fool you, I am still deep in the consumer products but with an enterprise twist. I mountain bike and travel the world. And yes, Guinness is my favourite beer. Stereotypical, I know.
